Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film best known for her performances in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. at the age of 16, she had already landed several television roles, including the lead role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. It was nominated for an Oscar and garnered critical praise. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra participated in several well-known worldwide and national productions over her career. The British biographical documentary Control the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, and the French historic mini-series Napoleon include among them. The actress also served on juries at Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
